Adobe asked me to create a piece of art for their upcoming Creative Cloud launch. The project consisted of creating artwork using the Adobe apps inspired by the insanely beautiful & serene desert in White Sands, New Mexico, a place I've always wanted to visit. The end result was a 9’ x 9’ lightbox displayed on the sand dunes at dusk. Being lost in White Sands was one of the most profound experiences in my life.

Throughout my life, it has always come down to a simple game between science vs. ‘magic’ (spirituality, religion, mediums, etc)
Just this year, I’ve realized I’m satisfied at the happy middle – that science is not opposed to magic – but rather, science is magic. Thus began this project, inspired by alchemist and occult symbols fused with quotes about science, the cosmos, quotes that inspire me to look at life in an objectivity rather than mysticism.
I was asked to participate in the AIGA 100 Poster show with the topic: What does design in Chicago mean to you? This was my contribution.
"It's Warm Inside" is a reaction to this long, cold winter in Chicago. I've noticed the tendency for people to regress during these months, as their activities become largely concentrated indoors - for better or for worse. This typographic illustration, confined to the letterforms as we are to the indoors during these chilly months, is a meditation on the sorts of activities people do to create warmth and meaning- from drug use to prayer, from exercise to overindulgence of food.

Lines and symmetry take me beyond the flat world to a place where I have found the pleasure of working with metals and with my hands. A side project of mine is Archiv goods, a space where I make and sell goods inspired by my design training.
