The Wild Earth features different sceneries in which we run free. A pattern project.
Throughout my life, it has always come down to a simple competition of science vs. ‘magic’ (spirituality, religion, mediums, etc)
Just this year, I’ve realized I’m satisfied at the happy middle – that science is not opposed to magic – but rather, science is magic. Thus began this project, inspired by alchemist and occult symbols and style, fused with quotes about science, the cosmos, quotes that inspire me to look at life in an objectivity rather than mysticism.
"It's Warm Inside" is a reaction to this long, cold winter in Chicago. I've noticed the tendency for people to regress during these months, as their activities become largely concentrated indoors - for better or for worse. This typographic illustration, confined to the letterforms as we are to the indoors during these chilly months, is a meditation on the sorts of activities people do to create warmth and meaning- from drug use to prayer, from exercise to overindulgence of food.

Entropy is the beauty in chaos caused by the human need to categorize and organize As a scientist, I was in charge of understanding the terrains and landscapes of the new planet.

An on-going project of some famous Chicago houses/structures from movies or history or just because
Lines and symmetry take me beyond the flat world to a place where I have found the pleasure of working with metals and with my hands. A side project of mine is Archiv goods, a space where I make and sell goods inspired by my design training.
How To Make is a personal illustration series of how things are made from the perspective of my inner 5-year-old.
Originally intended for a commissioned wall decal, this is my first stab at exploring geometric shapes in terms of typography.
Various doodles for one reason or none whatsoever!
Spirit animal warriors that guide good dreams.
Some of my favorites cards I illustrate and sell online and at various shops in Portland and Chicago, LA.
Manipulation & appropriation of animal forms.
This set was displayed for my final BFA show on June 4, 2009.
When you visit/fly out of portland, this shot is mandatory. Out of a pure confusion between love/hate for this carpet design, I’ve decided to vectorize this. I must say, now I LOVE it. It makes a pretty swell phone background.
Download it for your iPhone 4 or iPhone 5. You’re welcome. This wallpaper is NOT to be used for ANY profit - aka if you print this out for a shirt, hat, apparel - anything. Please read more about what's been happening here.
